Success! My Private Members' Bill - "Civil Partnerships, Marriages and Deaths (Registration Etc.) Bill" has cleared all its Parliamentary stages! Next stop - Royal assent.

International Trade Question, 14th March

Child Cruelty Sentences Bill

I am proud to be a sponsor of a bill introduced by my colleague Tom Tugendhat, which aims to bring sentencing powers for cases of child cruelty more in line with serious assaults on adults.

Debate on Rough Sleeping

Fur Free Britain

On Monday there were two pieces of good animal welfare news:

1) the Government's Ivory Bill passed through the House of Commons unopposed. The Bill will ban the trade in ivory in the UK and introduction strong sanction, such as heavy fines, against anyone breaking the ban
