26 months since the Shoreham Airshow crash and there have been no decisions on criminal charges, the coroner’s inquest has been delayed again and now the families of the victims have had their request for legal aid rejected.

At the beginning of this year, GTR finalised changes to the way they operate on their network – on many trains now the driver is in full control of the doors allowing the new role of on board supervisor (OBS) to spend more time with passengers.
I welcome the Aslef executive’s endorsement of the proposals GTR have negotiated to resolve the dispute. Negotiations have been concluded on pay, productivity and Driver Only Operation in a package that will now be put to a referendum of Aslef members.
New research from British Gas has highlighted that having no heating or hot water would be the number one disaster for households this winter. Even so, many people in East Worthing and Shoreham have not taken action to ensure their homes are winter-ready.
