I’m supporting a campaign run by charity The Reading Agency to encourage all primary school children to take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge. The Challenge launches across England and Wales on Saturday 13 July (although regional variations may apply).
No, I still haven’t thrown my hat in the ring for the Conservative Party leadership though the Westminster hat seller must be running rather low on stocks as the tally of contenders reaches 13 at the time of writing and nominations don’t actually close until Monday.
Climate change is a serious and pressing concern. I know that many East Worthing and Shoreham residents care deeply about our environment. The UK has a leading role to play in tackling climate change. However, this also needs urgent attention from the Governments of the world.
So not a lot to report from Parliament in the last week then – just a Prime Ministerial resignation and a cataclysmic result for the main parties in the European elections that nobody really wanted to take place.

Very disappointed to receive confirmation from the Department for Housing, Communities and Local Government that they will not be calling in the planning application for New Monks Farm as I and many of my constituents requested.
