The common observation from all the Remembrance Day commemorations held locally and nationally was that the crowds had never been bigger and it was particularly uplifting to see so many young people turn out.
I know a lot of my constituents share my disappointment that the Adur Planning Committee decided to approve the plans for New Monks Farm. There are numerous concerns about the impact it will have on traffic, congestion and our environment.
Well done to Mary Candy and the Southwick Society for installing information boards on the Green with some interesting records of Southwick role in WW1. Delighted to unveil them with Adur Council Cabinet member Emma Evans.
Thanks to the fantastic Eastbrook Primary School in Southwick, which has taken 3 of the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy Trees to plant in their woodland area. Helped by some very enthusiastic house captains.
I have pledged my support to the Long Live the Local Campaign to help pubs in East Worthing and Shoreham keep their doors open, joining more than 100,000 people who have signed the petition so far, including 224 in East Worthing and Shoreham.
I was obviously disappointed that the Adur Planning Committee saw fit to approve the New Monks farm planning application not least when so many questions remain about the sustainability of siting IKEA on the busiest road in the area.
