Statement: Theresa May seeks general election

For months our opponents have been claiming that Theresa May does not have a proper mandate because she was not elected as Prime Minister at the last general election.

If the intention was to get into Parliament, cause absolute mayhem and disrupt our democracy then it failed. 

Parliament is getting on with its business we are not going to be undermined by terrorism. This attack has failed and it will always fail.

Schools in West Sussex are facing some really difficult financial decisions, including cutting course, not replacing teachers and not purchasing pretty basic equipment.

West Sussex MPs recognise the pressures on our local schools and have been calling for fair funding for some time.

My "short" update on the progress of the European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill. This is the legislation that gives Parliament's consent to allow the Government to enact Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, thereby beginning the process of our withdrawal from the EU.
