Worthing Churches Homeless Project

There have been some complaints about the new Worthing Churches Homeless Project in Lyndhurst Road, which was set up in April to help take rough sleepers off the streets and recently a public meeting was held to hear concerns and indeed support from residents.

Brooklands Park Update

The new investment into Brooklands is welcome and credit to the councillor and local councillors, such as Cllr Keith Bickers, for championing this cause for local residents.

New scout hut in Adur Valley

There is a lot more to scouting than did dib dib, dob dob dob, and ging gang goollie, than when I hung up my woggle back in the 1970’s but it is still as valued and relevant youth movement than ever.

Skate Jam 2018

Great to see lots of young skaters and scooters turnout for the ‘Skate Jam’ event at the Lancing Beach Green skate park organised by Lancing youth charity Electric Storm Youth, of which I am proud to be a patron.

Canadian Memorial Day service 2018

Less well known than Dunkirk, definitely less successful but certainly no less courageous, the Dieppe Raid, as it came to be known, saw 5,000 Canadian troops, 1,000 British and 50 US Rangers launch an assault on the French Port.

Visit to Rampion wind farm

One of the projects I have been catching up with over the recess has been the Rampion wind farm and I was delighted to go to see it at first hand together with my Lewes colleague Maria Caulfield.

Unemployment is at its lowest level for over four decades

Figures out today show that the number of people out of work is at a record low. In East Worthing & Shoreham the number of people who are unemployed has fallen by 927 – a 57 per cent drop – since 2010.
