Recently I visited Southern Water's wastewater treatment plant in East Worthing.
I was able to ask senior management tough questions on how they are reacting to complaints from local residents, as well as what they are doing to clean up their act in the wider area. Having campaigned on water quality for a long time it was good to see what they are doing to improve their operations.
The Environment Act has brought in tough new regulations and penalties to ensure water companies are taking care of our seas rivers and beaches, but there is more to do and I will keep on the case.
