As I write this column I am juggling with a surge of queries by email and Facebook about everything from rescuing constituents on a cruise ship in Australia to how many times they can walk their dog to whether a window fitter is deemed to be an essential occupation.

It is difficult to write about anything but Coronavirus this week and most of my emails are from constituents seeking advice about everything from will they still be able to go and work on their allotment if they are over 70 to how to keep local businesses afloat facing shutdown.

Update following schools announcement

An update following the announcement that schools are to close from Friday afternoon - but will remain open to vulnerable children and children of key workers, including NHS staff, police, delivery drivers etc.

Budget 2020 Reaction

My reaction to yesterday's Budget - rightfully dominated by the response to COVID-19 but other really positive measures - including a £2.5bn 'pothole fund', nearly £650m of funding to help rough sleepers into permanent accommodation, axing the 'tampon-tax' and increasing the National Living Wage
