On Thursday 4 February 2016, I attended the third meeting of the local A27 Working Group.

Meeting Adur and Worthing's Member of Youth Parliament

Delighted to be able to discuss the UK Youth Parliament's anti-racism campaign, 'Don't hate, educate', with Adur and Worthing's Member of Youth Parliament, Stephen Gearing, and his deputy, Sebastian Maxed, as well as receiving an update on a number of local campaigns they have been taking part in.

Sir Robert Woodard Academy 3G pitch public meeting

Local Conservative councillors and I arranged a public meeting at United Reformed Church, Cokeham Road, Sompting, which was attended by approximately 80 local residents, following concerns from constituents about the impact of the new 3G pitch proposed for the Sir Robert Woodard Academy site.

Tim Loughton MP is backing apprenticeships in East Worthing and Shoreham and has joined a campaign to spread awareness of the opportunities that apprenticeships offer to both young people and businesses. 

Southern Rail Meeting

This month I had a meeting with Network Rail, Govia Thameslink Railway, the Rail Minister, Claire Perry MP, officials from the Department for Transport and 20 very angry MPs. I have to say that it was absolutely woeful. We heard a lot of excuses that frankly are just not good enough.

Tim Loughton MP welcomes new employment figures

Tim Loughton MP has welcomed new figures showing 275,000 more people in work across South East since the last Labour Government and a record level of employment across the UK as a whole – with over 2.2 million more people enjoying the security of a job than in 2010.

My reflections on the Air Show Memorial Service

Three months on from that terrible accident I hope that the memorial service succeeded in providing a fitting and respectful tribute to the eleven men whose lives were so cruelly cut short.
