Loughton: delight at departmental appointment

Tim Loughton, MP for East Worthing and Shoreham, has been appointed as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Children and Families in the Department for Education. Commenting, Tim said:

'I am absolutely delighted that the Prime Minister has asked me to take on this role. After more than six years as Shadow Minister for Children and Young People, I cannot wait to get on with the job. There is a great deal to be done to improve the lives of young people – particularly vulnerable young people – and I look forward to putting the ideas we developed in Opposition into practice.'
