Proposals to Alter the Configuration of Traffic Lights at the Grove Lodge Roundabout.

East Worthing and Shoreham MP, Tim Loughton, is urging constituents to attend a drop-in event on Friday at the Charmandean centre in Worthing when Highways Agency officials will be setting out a selection of proposals to alter the traffic light configuration at the Grove lodge roundabout on the A27 on the Upper Brighton Road in Worthing.

This follows a public meeting held by Tim and local councillors last summer at Broadwater C of E school when the Highways Agency promised to review the way the controversial changes had been working and report back to local residents.  Tim commented:

"The changes to the lights at Grove Lodge were controversial when first proposed and many people are still saying that they have made things worse on this congested part of the A27. This was the overwhelming response in the video podcast survey carried out on my TellTim site last year. I am pleased that the Agency has now carried out a very comprehensive review and have done some detailed modelling to put forward some specific alterations which they are prepared to make. Clearly they were as shocked as local motorists to see the long travel times between the Sompting and Findon Valley stretch of this road and I am grateful that they have now acknowledged the problem and are prepared to make changes. It is important therefore that as many people as possible go along and raise their concerns. I will then be organising a further public meeting when the results of the consultation are known."

DETAILS:

The first drop-in session runs from 1100 until 1400 with a presentation at 1230, the second from 1500 until 2030 with a presentation at 1900.
