Speaker's Corner comes to Shoreham
Tim will be on his soapbox on Coronation Green in Shoreham on Saturday September 13th at midday and is inviting constituents to come along and fire questions. He will be joined by Adur Council Leader Neil Parkin and other local Conservative councillors at the event which coincides with the next Shoreham Farmer's Market.
Tim commented:
'We are always looking at new ways of keeping in touch with our constituents and making sure people have every opportunity to scrutinise the job we are doing on their behalf as elected representatives. This is another example of getting politics out of the council chamber or out of Westminster and back onto the streets and I hope local people will take up the challenge. With my councillor colleagues I will be happy to take questions and talk on any local or national issue that constituents want to raise.
'Coronation Green seems an ideal substitute for the real Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park and I hope that if this experiment works we can repeat the exercise and extend it to other locations across Adur and Worthing. I am delighted that the Herald has agreed to help publicise this event and to invite questions from their readers in advance as well.'
