Tim walks the Parley charity walk
On 10 August 2008 Tim and his two daughters took part in the 5 mile sponsored walk/jog for local charity PARLEY (Parents and Relatives Listening and Empathising with You) of which he is the patron.
To date the walk has raised ?1560 (with money still coming in) which will enable PARLEY to purchase and donate a state-of-the-art electric cot for Worthing Hospital's paediatric Ward, and to update its kitchen with new sterilisers, bottles and crockery.
Commenting, Tim said:
'I was delighted to support Victoria Pizer and her team of volunteers who are behind this innovative and enthusiastic new local charity aimed at helping parents who have babies are born with short- or long-term medical conditions.
'Parley is a great example of concerned parents getting together and forming a charity in order to help other parents who have to go through the traumas of having children with medical conditions and feeling unsupported and uninformed.
'It is great that not only are they providing this information and support service but they have also raised enough money to donate an important piece of equipment to the paediatric ward at Worthing Hospital.'
