On Friday morning (25th April) during an assembly at Thomas a Becket Middle School in Worthing, Tim Loughton MP along with representatives of local company My Eco-Store announced the winners of the recent Eco-Summit 2008 competition in which pupils were asked to develop a slogan to advertise the Trevor Baylis Eco Media Player, one of the company's key eco-products.
After receiving a significant number of very high quality entries, a winner and a runner-up were chosen and presented with their prizes during the assembly, both entries having been submitted by pupils at Thomas a Becket.
The winning entry - "I want to go very green so I will listen to this machine" - will now be used to promote the product.
Commenting on the competition, Tim said:
"The standard of entries to this competition was very high and just goes to show how young people in our area are really getting to grips with the green agenda.
"We are all very grateful to My Eco-Store for running this competition and for the wider support they provided to my Eco-Summit initiative. I am sure that with the help of the winning slogan they will go on to great success with this product."
