Tim wears it pink for Breast Cancer Campaign
East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton has joined forces with the Breast Cancer Campaign to support its award winning wear it pink day on Friday 26 October 2007.
Wear It Pink is part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Breast Cancer Campaign are hoping that on 26th October people across the UK will wear something pink and donate ?2 to help support the campaign to continue researching for a cure and help the one woman in nine in the UK that will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
Last year's wear it pink day raised a massive ?3 million for breast cancer research and helped to fund over forty new research projects in the United Kingdom.
Tim commented:
"Every year nearly 44,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer. The Breast Cancer Campaign is the only charity that specialises in funding independent research into breast cancer throughout the UK- they currently support 95 research projects, worth over ?11.6 million in 50 centres of excellence across the UK - we need to help ensure financial stability for these projects.
"It couldn't be easier to wear it pink - whether you are in an office, at school, or simply doing the shopping. To register and to receive your free fundraising pack either call freephone 0800 107 3104; or visit www.wearitpink.co.uk."
