TIFFIN CUP 2007 - MP's Contest: Search for the best South Asian restaurant in Britain.
Following the success of the Tiffin Cup 2006, MPs have once again been asked to nominate a restaurant in their constituency to compete to be named the best South Asian restaurant in Britain. Last year over fifty restaurants were nominated from around the country and this time it is hoped to build upon the popularity of this mouth-watering competition, encouraging the participation of as many constituencies as possible, further celebrating the diversity of British culture and recognising the importance of South Asian cuisine in this county.
The Tiffin Cup is awarded every year by the Tiffin Club of MPs, formed in 2006 by John Barrett MP, Michael Fabricant MP and Keith Vaz MP. The aim is to not only applaud the quality of South Asian food in Britain but also raise much needed money for charity. This year the competition is in aid of the charity Paths to Success.
East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton would be delighted to receive nominations from local residents who should send their recommendations to Tim Loughton MP, House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.
Tim commented:
"We all know that curry is now the nation's most favourite dish. Let's get together and put Worthing and Adur on the map as the best place to enjoy South Asian food."
