Tim supports better understanding of Prostrate Cancer

Tim is supporting the Prostate Cancer Charter for ActionEast Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton has joined forces with Conservative party leader Michael Howard to draw attention to the dangers of prostrate cancer and the importance of men being aware of its symptoms.

Tim is supporting the Prostate Cancer Charter for Action, a collaboration of 22 leading charities and health-care professionals, which was launched in 2003 after a groundswell of concern that prostate cancer urgently needed greater focus and resources from those responsible for public health policy.

Tim commented:

"On average, 10,000 men in the UK die from prostate cancer each year, making it the most common form of cancer in men. I am delighted to have the opportunity to speak out on this matter. As with all cancers, patients who are diagnosed earlier have a greater range of treatment options. We therefore must get all men talking about their health and make them aware of the role of their prostate gland and the symptoms of prostate cancer."
