Tim encourages charitable behaviour

Tim is supporting the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) in their aim to drive up the commitments people make to charities and to boost the overall level of tax-efficient giving. To achieve their ambition, CAF is holding a National Giving Week from 17th to 23rd of October this year and Tim is determined to do all that he can to encourage individuals and companies to better champion charitable causes.

Tim commented:

"I am delighted to be involved once again with CAF's National Giving Week. It is intrinsic to most people's sense of humanity to want to support worthy causes and thus CAF's annual week long campaign to encourage people to give some of their time or some of their money to charity is very laudable project.

It is vital that we all support National Giving Week as over the last ten years there has been no increase in the percentage of national wealth contributed to charities and recently there has been research showing that these charities are paying more than £700 million more in tax than is required by the law.

I would urge local individuals, companies and charities to contact CAF at www.nationalgivingweek.org and see how they can get involved. Last year the South-East had the ninth best proportion of households giving to charities when compared to the twelve UK regions. This year Worthing and Adur should do all they can to ensure that the South East comes first!"

Note to Editor:

1) Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to effective charitable giving. Last year CAF's National Giving Week encouraged 13% of those who were aware of it to increase their donations to charity.
