Loughton judges Manor Hall School Clean Streets Competition

Councillor Angela Mills joined Tim Loughton MP last Friday, to judge a Cleaner Streets art competition by pupils at Manor Hall. Following months of problems with dog foul on pavements, pupils decided to design posters for a campaign to put an end to messy walks to school.

Judging the imaginative entries was very difficult, however after much deliberation the winning design was picked from a child in Reception Year (aged 5).

The drawing will now be re-produced by Adur District Council and pasted on billboards and lamp posts in the area, with the aim of making dog owners aware of the trouble they cause when they allow their dogs to foul the pavements.

Tim Loughton MP commented:

'The standard of drawings and the sheer imagination were a delight to behold and I was impressed by the variety of ways the children had thought of getting the message across. It was no easy task picking the winning entry but I was very impressed by the originality and we are all looking forward to seeing reproductions put up in the area.'
