'I know I have beautiful lips Cherie but you should be looking at my policies' - says Loughton

This was the winning entry in Tim Loughton's caption contest for a photograph of Tim and the Prime Minister's wife which was included in the survey which accompanied the delivery of his latest MP?s Annual Report. The entry was sent in by a resident of Church Walk in Selden ward, East Worthing who claims a magnum of champagne.

A runner up from New Road, Shoreham, received a bottle of champagne for her entry reminiscent of a character in the TV hit ?Little Britain? with the quote; 'Cherie look into my eyes, not around the eyes, in the eyes, okay you're under'.

Survey responses were received from hundreds of constituents across the East Worthing & Shoreham constituency giving their views on the job being done by Adur and Worthing Council, local police, SEERA etc and what more should be done for young people and to encourage more recycling. In addition constituents were asked to give a critical analysis of how good or bad a job their MP was doing and how he could better communicate with them.

Tim commented:

'I am delighted to the response to my latest constituency survey and the caption contest proved a good way of maximising the responses whilst having a bit of fun.
The results will be very helpful in informing my priorities and I will be passing on relevant findings to the local police and local councils. I will also be looking at new ways of keeping in touch with my constituents including publishing a regular e-mail newsletter of my activities in Parliament and in the constituency and holding more general public meetings to report on my activities.'

A copy of the full survey findings in the four areas of the constituency is attached, together with a selection of some of the more amusing losing caption contest entries.
