Local MP scores points at party conference

Tim Loughton, MP for East Worthing and Shoreham, scored the winning hoop in the final minutes of a charity basketball game at the Conservative Party Conference last week. The game took place opposite Bournemouth Pier on Conference Tuesday where the Conservative MPs took on the Great Britain Paralympic Basketball Team support of the John Grooms charity. The British Paralympic team won a bronze medal in Athens last month.

Local Constituency Delegate Nitesh Palana said ?It was great to see our local MP supporting charity in this way and showing that he is active both in and out of Parliament.

An obviously exhausted Tim said:

'The British team ran rings around us but were clearly taking it easy on us. The whole even was great fun but seriously it was an important opportunity to promote what the John Grooms charity does so much to help. The UK Paralympic team are excellent role models for what can be achieved by people with disability and anyone who thinks they are a soft touch should get out there and find out more'
