Welcome to my website
Welcome to my website which is designed to help keep you informed about my work on your behalf at Westminster and in the East Worthing and Shoreham constituency, and to make it even easier for you to contact me.
You can now use this site to send me queries through my online surgery or to find out the date of my next scheduled constituency surgery for a confidential appointment. There are also details of the drop-in street surgeries which I hold with local councillors in shopping parades across the constituency.
Have your say on topical political issues through the Tell Tim link on www.telltim.co.uk where you can find video podcasts from around the constituency and complete with feedback surveys. There's all the usual information to help you keep up to date with legislation and debates at Westminster and important campaigns in the constituency.
I believe that keeping in touch with constituents is one of the most important responsibilities of a Member of Parliament. That is why I have always sought to make myself as accessible as possible through this website, regular surgeries, public meetings, leaflets, the media and my Annual Report which is delivered to every house in the constituency, usually in the spring. You can also receive my monthly e-newsletter keeping you even more abreast of what I am up to. Click here to email me and be added to the mailing list.
2008 promises to be another challenging one for Adur, Worthing and Sussex generally. We await the results of the PCT consultation which will decide the future of Worthing and Southlands hospitals. It is due to report in February. Before that we will hear the fate of the 7 sub-post offices faced with closure in the constituency in the teeth of massive opposition from local residents. Theses are important campaigns that I have been closely involved in, as with other important issues facing my constituents, locally and nationally.

If you live in the Adur District or in the four eastern wards of Worthing (Broadwater, Gaisford, Offington and Selden) then I am your MP. I am here to represent everybody and I have endeavoured to do that in my 10 years as the local MP regardless of whether you voted for me or not. In Parliament I am currently the Shadow Minister for Children so I take a particularly close interest in everything to do with children and young people.
I aim to respond to everyone as quickly as possible. However, with over 92,000 constituents to look after, and a busy postbag (hard copy and electronic) please be patient, or feel free to chase me up if you have been waiting too long. It may be that your query is more appropriately dealt with by a local councillor or council officer and relevant details are also included on my site.
I hope you find my website useful. I always welcome your suggestions for improvements so please let me know what you think both about this site and the job I am doing on your behalf.
