Regeneration vision for Lancing

Updated 18th April 2012

On the 14th of April, Local residents and councillors turned out for a Roundtable discussion about the regeneration plans for Lancing.

The meeting was organised by local Parish Councillor Andrew Barnes and offered locals a chance to give opinions and suggest improvements to the plans currently displayed at Lancing Parish Hall.

I attended the meeting where some good suggestions were produced and the people of Lancing were really engaged to make their village a better place to live.

Adur and Lancing Parish Councils are now approaching schools and other local groups for their suggestions. Funding has already been secured for a ‘Sensory Garden’ on South Street, Lancing and the BDP plan to improve Lancing is expected to be released on 24th May 2012.

BDP has produced a programme with some good ideas on how to improve the village in the short and longer term. However, it is vital to get the views of the most important people of all, local residents, as they have the best understanding of Lancing and the issues it faces.

There is also a questionnaire on my telltim website for Lancing residents to fill out. The replies I have had so far have been really useful, so please keep them coming. www.telltim.co.uk
