Adur District Council

Adur District Council was formed in 1974 from the merger of Shoreham and Southwick urban district councils and the parishes of Lancing, Sompting and Coombes were brought under its control.

There are currently 29 members of Adur Council spread across 14 wards, following a boundary review on June 11th 2004.  Since then there are 2 councillors in each ward except the Widewater ward in Lancing which keeps 3.

The council is currently controlled by the Conservative Party.

Worthing Borough Council

Worthing Borough Council is responsible for the whole of the town of Worthing with a population of  approximately 100,000. The Council is divided into 13 wards each with 3 councillors.  The Durrington ward was split into 2 wards, each ward with 2 councillors to give a total of 37 councillors.

Worthing Council is Conservative controlled with 26 councillors against 11 Lib Dems.

West Sussex County Council

West Sussex County Council is responsible for operating the major services across the County such as education, social services and highways. County Hall is based at Chichester. There are 71 members of the County Council of which 8 come form wards in the East Worthing & Shoreham Constituency. The Council is currently run by the Conservatives.
