Electric Storm

I am a patron of Electric Storm Youth, a Charity based in Lancing which has had a vision to see a brand new facility for young people built on the Freshbrook School Site. The site became available in June 2009 but they have had their eyes set on it since before then. The centre will offer facilities and services that are right at the heart of youth culture such as skate boarding, a climbing wall, a multi gym, a large café and professional standard catering kitchen, meeting rooms and a computer games room.

ESY has been working hard to fundraise and gain local support and they now have been granted planning permission to build their new facility. After five years of hard work, they can take one big step further to making their vision a reality and, with the capacity to have a skate ramp, concerts and indoor football events, the new facility will be a great place for children to go in the evenings.

Further good news is that ESY has been selected by the new Chairman of Adur District Council, Councillor Brian Boggis, as one of his Chairman's charities for 2011-12. This is great news for the charity and they are looking forward to working alongside Council.

ESY has applied to Natwest Community Force for funding to enhance its regular Saturday Sessions for young people in Lancing and Sompting. You can help by voting for them on the Community Force website.  Simply put, whoever gets the most votes in each voting area wins the money. It doesn't matter where you live you can still vote for Electric Storm Youth.  All you need to do is register and vote http://communityforce.natwest.com/project/247
